There are over 2130 locations given in the December mobile camera list. Has anyone questioned why the list is so ridiculously large? How many of the locations are being used compared to how many locations are duds? To find answers to these questions in WA we began a monitoring of the locations and found that far too many camera locations were bogus or not even on the current list. The out cry made politicians listen and the police were called to heal. Now our WA list is pretty accurate and very small.
New Road Safety Cameras Operational
The fixed digital safety cameras on the corner of Princes Highway and Pioneer
Road, Grovedale, and the corner of Royal Parade and Gatehouse Street, Parkville,
became operational on 13 January 2010 as part of the significant upgrade to the
traffic camera network. These fixed
digital cameras are combined speed and red-light intersection cameras,
and were placed at these sites as they were assessed as being sites with a high
crash-risk.
